Our Canine Life Journey Programmes
The Canine Life Journey Programmes offer a unique, holistic way to guide your dog’s emotional and behavioural development, and now you can access this tailored support from anywhere. Whether you have a new puppy, an adolescent, or an adult dog, our online programme provides the same compassionate and comprehensive approach as our in-person sessions—only from the comfort of your own home. Through personalised online sessions, we work with you to understand your dog’s unique needs, offering step-by-step guidance to help them grow emotionally, learn essential life skills, and thrive. With interactive support, you’ll be able to work through challenges and build a deeper connection with your dog, all while following the Canine Dialogue Dynamics (CDD) method. Even though it’s online, the programme adapts seamlessly to your schedule and your dog’s progress, ensuring a natural, stress-free learning experience for both of you.
What Makes It Different?
The Canine Dialogue Dynamics (CDD) method is not only unique in its compassionate, dog-centric approach but also in how seamlessly it translates into an online format. Unlike conventional training methods that rely heavily on physical presence and repetition of commands, the CDD method focuses on emotional growth, natural learning, and understanding your dog’s needs. This makes it far easier to guide you and your dog through each session online. With our online programmes, you’re not just learning how to teach your dog, but why. Each session is designed to help you understand the natural communication between you and your dog, allowing you to apply these techniques in your own time and space. You’ll find that the process is intuitive and effective, as it aligns with your dog’s natural way of learning. Whether you’re working on emotional balance, behavioural challenges, or life skills, our step-by-step guidance makes it easy to implement the CDD method from home, at your own pace.
This approach nurtures dogs to be:
Confident and Capable:
They make thoughtful choices, guided by emotional security rather than external commands.
Resilient:
Able to handle new environments, social settings, and unexpected changes with calmness.
Intelligent:
Your dog learns through experience, not through commands, developing a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Content and Balanced:
They feel secure and happy within themselves, knowing how to navigate life’s challenges with ease.
The Canine Life Journey Programme is designed to support your dog at every stage of life, adapting to their specific developmental needs.
Puppies
This programme lays the emotional and mental foundation they need for life. By teaching them through natural methods, we nurture their curiosity and encourage healthy socialisation, helping them become confident and well-adjusted adults. Your puppy learns how to explore the world with security and joy, without the need for constant guidance.
Adolescents
During this period of emotional and physical growth, the CDD method focuses on impulse control, self-restraint, and developing emotional regulation. Adolescents learn to make better decisions and navigate the often overwhelming changes they experience with calmness and self-awareness.
Adult Dogs
We help adult dogs refine their emotional intelligence and continue to grow in confidence and independence. This approach is particularly beneficial for dogs who need to deepen their self-control or develop greater emotional resilience.
Senior Dogs
As they age, dogs often need extra mental stimulation to keep their minds sharp and their emotions balanced. The Canine Life Journey Programme ensures that older dogs continue to thrive, with a focus on mental engagement and maintaining emotional well-being.
Our programmes go deeper than training—it’s about teaching your dog how to live in harmony with you, in a relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and love. The Canine Life Journey isn’t about getting your dog to perform tasks on command—it’s about guiding them to become confident, intelligent, and emotionally balanced companions.
Our programmes are designed to grow with your dog, offering guidance through all stages of life—puppy, adolescent, or adult. The CDD method helps your dog develop emotional balance, confidence, and deeper communication at each step of their journey.

You will receive everything from the Discovery Programme, adjusted to your dog’s life stage. You do not need to progress to this programme, you can begin straight away from a complete beginner! You can choose this programme if you have a new puppy and this will take you through to adolescence, or begin here with older dogs.
Reliable recall is essential for your dog’s safety and freedom. In the Balance Programme, we build on basic recall skills by working with your dog in more distracting environments, (Once they have learnt foundational recall), such as parks with other dogs, busy outdoor spaces, and areas with wildlife. This teaches your dog to stay focused, even when there are exciting distractions around them. Strengthening recall in challenging situations gives you the confidence to allow your dog more off-lead freedom while ensuring they return safely when called, regardless of the distractions around them.
Building on loose lead walking, we refine your dog’s walking skills in a variety of environments, including busier streets, parks, and areas with more distractions. Techniques such as “Tuck in” or “Stay close” are introduced to give you and your dog more control while still allowing your dog to explore. Refining lead walking ensures peaceful, enjoyable walks in more challenging environments. This helps prevent pulling and over-excitement, creating a calmer and more enjoyable experience for both you and your dog.
Impulse control is taken to the next level, with more complex scenarios such as remaining calm in the presence of exciting stimuli (other dogs, wildlife, or guests arriving). Emotional regulation is further developed, helping your dog manage frustration, anxiety, or overexcitement in increasingly stimulating environments. Building impulse control in complex scenarios teaches your dog to think before reacting, leading to more balanced and thoughtful responses in high-energy situations.
We’ll focus on helping your dog become more self-aware in busy environments, teaching them to check in with their emotions and make calmer choices, even when surrounded by exciting stimuli. This includes scenarios like greeting guests calmly or remaining composed when encountering other dogs during walks. Developing self-awareness helps your dog make better decisions in high-energy situations, reducing hyperactivity and ensuring they remain calm and composed when it matters most.
As your dog progresses, we’ll move on to more complex social environments, such as busier parks and cafes, where they will have the opportunity to refine their social interactions with other dogs and people. This includes teaching polite greetings, calm interactions, and appropriate play behaviour. Social confidence and appropriate interactions are key to your dog’s ability to navigate a variety of environments without stress or fear. This ensures that your dog remains calm and composed around others, even in busier settings.
Some dogs have a strong prey drive, making them reactive to small animals, birds, or fast-moving objects. In this programme, we introduce exercises to help your dog manage their instinctual drive in a controlled and thoughtful way, ensuring they stay focused on you rather than giving in to chasing behaviours. Controlling prey drive ensures your dog remains safe and responsive in environments where they may encounter wildlife or fast-moving stimuli, helping them maintain focus and preventing dangerous chasing behaviour.
We’ll build on your dog’s language skills, teaching them to understand more complex sentences and phrases. By expanding their comprehension, you and your dog will be able to communicate with greater clarity, giving them more nuanced verbal guidance to follow. Enhancing your dog’s ability to understand complex communication deepens your connection and makes daily interactions smoother, whether in training or in routine activities like walking or playing.
Adolescence and certain adult life stages can bring about significant hormonal changes that impact your dog’s behaviour. In this programme, we’ll work on helping your dog navigate these hormonal shifts by guiding them through moments of heightened sensitivity or reactivity.
Helping your dog through hormonal changes with guidance and understanding ensures that they remain emotionally stable during these challenging times, reducing the risk of anxiety, aggression, or withdrawal.
Understanding your dog’s body language is crucial for recognising their needs and emotions. By learning how to interpret your dog’s signals, you’ll be able to respond appropriately to their emotional state and strengthen your communication. Knowing your dog’s body language helps you anticipate their reactions and needs, creating a more harmonious relationship built on understanding.

We’ll teach your dog how to settle and relax in different environments, from home to public spaces like cafes. This helps them learn to calm themselves in potentially overwhelming situations. Teaching emotional regulation and the ability to settle in social environments promotes a calm, balanced temperament in your dog.
We’ll teach your dog how to make safe and thoughtful decisions when faced with new or challenging situations, empowering them to navigate the world with confidence. Empowering your dog to make safe choices builds their independence and helps them approach new situations with confidence and calmness.
For dogs that struggle with hyperactivity, we’ll focus on finding a balance between activity and calmness, helping them learn to relax and self-regulate their energy levels. Managing hyperactivity leads to a more balanced, peaceful dog, reducing stress for both the dog and their guardian.
Engage your dog in interactive activities where they need to work with you to solve problems. This can enhance your relationship and improve their mental agility. Collaborative problem-solving enhances communication and strengthens the relationship between you and your dog, while also boosting their cognitive function.
Many dogs struggle to shift from playtime to relaxation or from a walk to calm behaviour at home. Teaching smooth transitions between high-energy activities and calm moments can help with emotional regulation.
Managing transitions between different energy levels prevents overstimulation and promotes calm behaviour in the home after active periods.
For dogs that travel frequently, teaching calm, safe behaviour during car rides can be invaluable. This includes getting in and out of the car calmly and remaining settled during the journey. Calm car behaviour reduces stress for both you and your dog, making travel more enjoyable and safer for all involved.
We will focus on enhancing your dog’s cognitive abilities by encouraging problem-solving, decision-making, and thoughtful responses to various scenarios. Your dog will learn how to think through situations, solve challenges, and make independent decisions, all while maintaining emotional control. Developing cognitive skills sharpens your dog’s mental agility, making them more adaptable, self-reliant, and confident. This helps them become more thoughtful in new environments or when facing challenges, reducing reactive behaviours.
This programme introduces your dog to more complex social environments, such as parks, markets, or gatherings, where they’ll need to manage interactions with multiple dogs or people. We’ll guide them in understanding social cues, navigating group dynamics, and handling busy settings with calmness and grace. We will not overwhelm your dog and will only choose social situations that they are comfortable with. Mastering complex social interactions ensures your dog remains composed and confident in high-stimulation environments. It reduces stress and anxiety, allowing them to enjoy social situations with ease.
Emotional mastery goes beyond emotional regulation; it’s about your dog learning to confidently manage a wide range of emotions in different settings. Whether they’re facing stress, excitement, or frustration, your dog will learn to maintain calmness and make balanced decisions, regardless of the environment. Emotional mastery equips your dog with the ability to navigate life with a sense of stability, even in unpredictable or high-energy situations. This skill reduces overreactions and creates a dog who is calm, confident, and emotionally resilient.
We will work on building your dog’s focus and engagement with you, even in highly stimulating environments. Whether they’re exposed to distractions or new experiences, your dog will learn to stay connected with you and communicate with you. Enhanced focus improves your dog’s ability to listen and engage with you, even when the environment is distracting. This creates a more reliable partnership between you and your dog in more settings.
Your dog will learn to handle unpredictable or sudden changes in their environment, such as loud noises, unexpected encounters with other animals, or sudden movements. By building emotional resilience, your dog will remain calm and composed, even when things don’t go as planned. Emotional resilience ensures your dog can handle surprises without becoming reactive or stressed. This makes them more adaptable and confident in everyday life, especially in unpredictable situations.
This programme includes teaching your dog to actively participate in their own care, such as nail trimming, grooming, or vet visits. We focus on helping your dog to willingly participant in these routines, reducing stress and improving their comfort level during handling. Cooperative care fosters trust between you and your dog, making routine care less stressful for both of you. This skill is especially useful for long-term health and well-being, as it creates a calm, cooperative atmosphere during necessary care routines.
Your dog will be introduced to real-world situations that require them to think critically and solve problems, such as navigating around obstacles, responding to environmental changes, or working with you to complete fun tasks. We’ll encourage your dog to use their cognitive skills to approach these situations thoughtfully. Problem-solving builds your dog’s confidence and independence, allowing them to navigate challenges with ease and reducing their reliance on reactive behaviours.
Delayed gratification helps your dog build emotional control, ensuring they can remain calm and content while waiting for what they want, leading to better outcomes in a variety of situations.
Introducing a specialised recall command for emergency situations, ensuring that your dog responds immediately and without hesitation, even with distractions or potential dangers. Emergency recall adds an extra layer of safety, ensuring that your dog responds instantly in potentially life-threatening situations, such as avoiding traffic or returning from chasing wildlife.
Introducing scent work activities where your dog learns to identify and locate specific scents in a variety of environments, keeping them mentally stimulated and focused.
Scent work taps into your dog’s natural instincts and provides mental stimulation, helping them stay engaged and focused while reducing boredom and anxiety.

Behavioural Programmes
Our online behavioural programmes are designed to offer the same depth and effectiveness as our in-person services, all conducted via video call. Through these comprehensive, one-on-one sessions, we use the Canine Dialogue Dynamics (CDD) method to address your dog’s specific behavioural challenges without the need for unnecessary training tasks. The method focuses on emotional growth and natural communication, which translates exceptionally well into the online format.
While there are many practical elements involved, the CDD method is highly adaptable, allowing us to tailor the approach to suit your dog, your household, and your unique situation. There’s no rigid, one-size-fits-all approach—each session is personalised to meet the needs of both you and your dog, making it easy to follow and implement at home.
Whether you’re addressing reactivity, anxiety, or other behavioural concerns, our online sessions will guide you through practical, realistic strategies that foster real change, all from the comfort of your home.
Each programme begins with a comprehensive consultation lasting between 90 minutes to 2 hours. This initial consultation is essential for understanding your dog’s unique behavioural patterns. During this time, I’ll ask in-depth questions about your dog’s history, routines, and emotional landscape. This allows us to identify the core issues and tailor a plan that’s specific to your dog’s needs.
In the second part of the consultation, I’ll walk you through the first steps to help your dog make positive changes and explain how you can support their emotional journey. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how we’ll move forward together.
Following the consultation, each session lasts around 45 to 60 minutes.
