Each programme begins with a comprehensive consultation lasting between 90 minutes to 2 hours. This initial consultation is essential for understanding your dog’s unique behavioural patterns. During this time, you will be asked in-depth questions about your dog’s history, routines, and emotional landscape. This allows us to identify the core issues and tailor a plan that’s specific to your dog’s needs. Meeting your dog in their home environment—or an alternative like a café or pub—helps us observe their natural behaviour, which is vital for accurate analysis and planning.
In the second part of the consultation, we walk you through the first steps to help your dog make positive changes and explain how you can support their emotional journey. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how we’ll move forward together.

Following the consultation, each session lasts around 45 to 60 minutes. We will finish when your dog indicates that they are ready, respecting their emotional state. Sessions can take place in various environments—whether that’s a new location to build confidence or a familiar place for comfort. While sticking to familiar places can be helpful, introducing variety can encourage emotional growth and adaptability.
Whether it’s towards other dogs, people, or environmental stimuli, we focus on helping your dog learn emotional regulation and resilience.
Managing aggressive behaviour stemming from fear, frustration, or resource guarding, and guiding your dog towards calm, controlled responses.
Helping dogs overcome generalised anxiety, or specific fears. We focus on identifying and overcoming their fears and anxieties.
Addressing overreactions while on the lead, such as lunging, barking, or pulling when encountering other dogs or distractions.
Assisting dogs that exhibit guarding behaviour over food, toys, or other resources by teaching them how to share space calmly.
Calming overly energetic dogs by teaching self-regulation and how to relax in stimulating environments.
Helping dogs overcome destructive tendencies such as chewing furniture, digging, or tearing up household items, often linked to stress or boredom.
Assisting dogs that struggle to interact appropriately with other dogs or people, teaching them polite social skills.
Assisting dogs that are uncomfortable with grooming, vet visits, or general handling, helping them to remain calm and cooperative.
The CDD Method isn’t dog training. It’s not about commands, conditioning, or control.
It’s a living, breathing conversation between you and your dog—one built on trust, language, presence, and mutual understanding. It’s noticing the pause before the choice, the emotion beneath the behaviour, the unspoken wisdom in every glance and gesture. CDD invites you to teach without pressure, to guide without force, and to connect with your dog in a way that feels natural, intuitive, and whole.
