Behavioural Programmes

Each programme begins with a comprehensive consultation lasting between 90 minutes to 2 hours. This initial consultation is essential for understanding your dog’s unique behavioural patterns. During this time, you will be asked in-depth questions about your dog’s history, routines, and emotional landscape. This allows us to identify the core issues and tailor a plan that’s specific to your dog’s needs. Meeting your dog in their home environment—or an alternative like a café or pub—helps us observe their natural behaviour, which is vital for accurate analysis and planning.

In the second part of the consultation, we walk you through the first steps to help your dog make positive changes and explain how you can support their emotional journey. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how we’ll move forward together.

I booked the Behavioural consultation over zoom. My case was a bit complex so Bethany extended the 90 minute consultation to over 2 hours for me! It was very comprehensive, she went the extra mile to help my dog and I received plenty of support after the consultation. I also did the reactivity course and it helped me so much to go through all the steps. Bethany is extremely thorough, friendly and she is very knowledgeable. She is the best behaviourist I've ever had (and I've been to a few!) Her method is so unique and so flexible and ethical. Thank you Bethany. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

✨✨🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟✨✨ A million stars! Bethany has helped me in a phenomenal way. She helped my dog who was suffering with reactivity. We had an online consultation and then I booked the online behavioural programme. I am still so stunned with the CDD method, it has literally been life changing. I had previously tried 2 behaviourists who came to the house, 2 trainers who met me locally and one online behaviourist before I found Bethany. Her method was so different from anything I had been told to do before (all of which failed us over the years) we had tried counter conditioning, desensitisation, staying under threshold, keeping his bucket empty, engage/disengage game, fun games, calm games, high value treat distractions, toy distraction, avoidance, avoiding trigger stacking etc you name it all the positive methods we tried for years and we never got much closer to resolving his reactivity! Bethany's approach bypassed all of that but remained force free and very ethical, even more ethical that most in my opinion. My boy is now so much better around other dogs, Sometimes he even chooses to greet dogs and other times he decides to keep his distance. But he no longer loses his mind whenever he sees another dog. I now share the CDD method to anyone who needs to hear it because it's changed my dogs lives so much! I have now since got a new puppy and i am raising her completely with the CDD method though the puppy programme and it's been such a rewarding journey and a brilliant experience. Bethany's courses are also fantastic! I did the reactivity course alongside working with Bethany online and the course is packed full of helpful information, her videos are engaging and the information is broken down into understandable sections. The CDD method is the way forward and Bethany is a wonderful canine expert to lead the way. Thank you Bethany!

Bethany is a wonderful behaviourist and an expert in her field! I came to her with issues with my dog's reactivity towards other dogs. Her method is different to the typical desensitisation and counter conditioning. I have found this way of teaching so much more enjoyable and holistic. My dog now has the ability to choose which dogs she wants to greet and which dogs she wants to avoid peacefully. I had a couple of 1-1 sessions with Bethany and then completed her reactivity online course. We are a much happier dog family now thanks to CDD!

We have been working with Bethany for a few months with our frustrated greeter, Zak. Bethany always explains the behaviour he is showing and the reasons why, this helps us to understand why he behaves as he does. I have on, a number of times, contacted Bethany at random times of the day and she never makes you feel as though you are bothering her, always answers any questions and, most importantly, being the support needed at that time! Highly recommend Bethany- force free methods which help you understand why your dog behaves like he does and not to just ‘railroad’ over and dominate him into the behaviour we want.

Would highly recommend Bethany . Helped us deal with our rather shouty spaniel , we are far more confident and our progress is coming along daily . Helped us understand why we were experiencing the behaviour which helped us to change things up and deal with it . Can't thank enough .

Had our initial consultation with Bethany yesterday and we were very impressed. It was obvious this professionals knowledge is immense! Bethany put our mind at rest, was open and realistic about what to expect, and answered all of our various worries and concerns and explained everything in a way that totally made sense!

Following the consultation, each session lasts around 45 to 60 minutes. We will finish when your dog indicates that they are ready, respecting their emotional state. Sessions can take place in various environments—whether that’s a new location to build confidence or a familiar place for comfort. While sticking to familiar places can be helpful, introducing variety can encourage emotional growth and adaptability.

What Makes It Different?

The CDD Method isn’t dog training. It’s not about commands, conditioning, or control.

It’s a living, breathing conversation between you and your dog—one built on trust, language, presence, and mutual understanding. It’s noticing the pause before the choice, the emotion beneath the behaviour, the unspoken wisdom in every glance and gesture. CDD invites you to teach without pressure, to guide without force, and to connect with your dog in a way that feels natural, intuitive, and whole.
